Korean baseball (KBO) tickets for non-Koreans

The problem

Korea is notorious for its digital barriers for non-Koreans. Specifically, those without Korean phone numbers or “accredited cerficates” (공인인증서). My understanding is that you need at least one of those to book baseball tickets online, and those who don’t must take their chance and queue on-site the day of the match to buy tickets from a booth.

My humble solution

My name is Junghyun (as you see from the site) and I’m a big fan of baseball in Korea. Got Lotte Giants! I would hate to see anyone miss out on the experience, just because you don’t have a phone number or bank account in Korea. Email me with your preferred dates, stadium, and seat section and I can book the tickets for you—

Cost

—for free. If you’re already in Korea, you can stop by an ATM or a bank teller to deposit the ticket price to my account. If you’re from the States, you can Venmo me the USD equivalent of the ticket cost. If neither applies to you, still contact me and we can figure out what we can do.

What’s the catch?

The catch is that I can’t guarantee you the tickets. I’m a grad student and can get lost in my workload, or the game might be sold out, or I might just be away on some time off. Whatever the case might be, I’ll try to be as prompt and transparent as I can.

If you have any questions, about the process or the KBO league in general, feel free to ask!
